1.2 Adding a Template
To create a new Template, tap the Template add button in the upper righthand corner of the Template list screen.
Upon tapping the Template add button, Template edit screen will be displayed.


1.3 Deleting a Template
To delete a Template, tap the Edit button in the upper lefthand corner of the Template list screen.
Upon tapping the Edit button, Template list screen will change to Edit mode.


Tap the red icon on the lefthand side of the template cell you want to delete.
Upon tapping the icon, a Delete button will appear of the lefthand side of the cell.


Tap the Delete button.
Upon tapping the Delete button, the deletion confirmation screen will appear.


Tap the Delete button again.
Upon tapping the Delete button, template will be deleted.


Tap the Done button on the upper righthand corner of the screen.
Upon tapping the Done button, template list will exit Edit mode.




1.4 Displaying a template      on the Calculation screen
There are 2 ways to display a Template on theCalculation screen.

Method 1: Tap on the template cell
While viewing the Template list screen, tap on the cell.
Upon tapping on the cell, the Calculation screen will be displayed.
@¦If the template has not been saved on the Template edit screen, the Template edit screen will be displayed.


Method 2: Tap on the template's action button
While viewing the Template list screen, tap on the template's action button.
Upon tapping on the action button, a list of associated actions will be displayed.


Select and tap the Operation button from the list of actions.
@¦If the template has not been properly saved on the Template edit screen, Operation button will not be shown.
Upon tapping on the Operation button, the Calculation screen will be displayed.




1.5 Changing the name of a template
To change the name of a template, tap the action button on the righthand side of the cell on the Template list screen.
Upon tapping on the action button, a list of actions associated with the template will be displayed.



Select and tap the Edit template name button from the list of actions.
Upon tapping on the Edit template name button, the template name entry window will be displayed.


Enter the new template name into the template name entry window, and tap on the OK button.
Upon tapping on the OK button, the template name will be changed.



1.6 Displaying the template edit screen
To display the template edit screen, tap the action button on the righthand side of the cell.
Upon tapping on the action button, a list of actions associated with the template will be displayed.



Select and tap the Edit template button from the list of actions.
Upon tapping on the Edit template button, the template edit screen will be displayed.




2. Calculator screen
2.1 Explanation of Calculator screen

‡@ Display
@Displays inputted values and results of calculations.
@The operator for a value being inputted is displayed above the value.
‡A Symbol Conversion Button
@Converts the symbol of the value being displayed.
‡B BS (Back Space) button
@Deletes the last digit of the value being displayed.
@If the value being displayed is the result of a calculation, this clears the value.
‡CC (Clear) button
@Clears the value shown in the Display.
‡D Value Button
@Enters a value.
@Values after the decimal point may be entered by entering a value after inputting a decimal point.
‡E Operator Button
@This button is for performing arithmetic operations.
‡F Cancel button
@Closes the Calculator screen without setting the value shown in the Display.
‡G Set Button
@Sets the value shown in the Display and closes the Calculator screen.


2.2 Calculate
To perform a calculation, please follow the example as shown below.
Example)@Calculate 10 + 15.
Enter 10 on the Calculator screen.
10 will be shown on the Display.


Enter {.
+ will appear at the top of the Display.


Enter 15.
10 will disappear from the Display (this is normal) and 15 will appear.


Enter .
he result of the calculation, 25, will appear on the Display.



2.3 Clear the Calculation Result
To clear the calculation result, tap the C button.
Tap the C button and the calculation result will be cleared and 0 will appear on the Display.



2.4 Backspace
To delete the last digit, tap the BS button.
Tap the BS button and the last digit of the value being entered will be deleted.
@¦If the value shown on the Display is the result of a calculation, it will have the same function as the C button.



2.5 Repeat a Calculation
It is possible to repeat the same calculation with simple commands.
To repeat a calculation, follow the example as shown below.
Example) Repeating the addition of 2.
Enter 2 on the Calculator screen.


Enter { 2 times.
A smaller { will appear to the right of the {.


Enter .
The result of the calculation will be displayed.
Also, the { on the left will disappear, and only the smaller { will remain.
If the smaller { remains, you can repeat the calculation by repeatedly entering .



2.6 Set Calculation Result
To set the calculation result; tap the Done button on the Calculator screen.
Tap the Done button and the Calculator screen will close, and if necessary, the value will be applied to the Mono object.



2.7 Cancel a Calculation Result
To cancel the result of a calculation, tap the Cancel button on the Calculator screen.
Tap the Cancel button and the Calculator screen will close.




3. Template edit screen

3.1 Explanation of Template edit screen


‡@ Commit button
@Saves changes to the Template, and closes Template edit screen.
‡A Template title
@Shows the template title that is being edited.
‡B Edit title button
@Edits the Template title.
‡C All delete button
@Deletes all placed Template objects.
‡D Template edit area
@The grid is an area for editing a template.
@Place calculation objects on the grid and create a template.
‡E Calculation object keyboard
@A keyboard showing the calculation objects that can be placed on the grid.
@Tap the object that you wish to set, and the object will be placed on the grid.
‡F Mono library button
@Displays the Mono library screen.
‡G Button to switch to miscellaneous function keyboard
@Switches the keyboard.
@¦In the iPad version, as all of the calculation object are placed above a single keyboard, there is no keyboard switch button.


3.2 Place Template objects      and create a template.
To create a template, you must place a template object.
Tap the template object you wish to place on Calculation object keyboard.
Tap the template object, and the template object will be placed on the grid.


It is possible to change the order of the placement of template objects.
To replace an object, drag the object you wish to change rearrange.


Drag the object between the objects where you want to insert it, and it will open a new space.
Drop it at the desired position, and the object will be moved. B



3.3 Mono object Controls:
In 3.3, the special controls for Mono object will be explained.
Tap a placed Mono object, and the controls menu can be opened.



3.3.1 Edit name
To change the name of a Mono object; tap the Edit title button in the Mono object controls menu.
Tap the Edit title button, and the name input screen will open.



Enter a name in the name input screen, and tap the OK button.
Tap the OK button, and the name will be applied to the Mono object.



3.3.2 Setting an Initial Value
Set an initial value for a Mono object, and the time spent when performing calculations can be greatly reduced.
To set an initial value for a Mono object; tap the Setting Initial value button in the Mono object controls menu.
Tap the Setting Initial value button, and the calculator will launch.


Enter the initial value you wish to set in the Calculator, and tap the Done button
Tap the Done button, and the value will be set for the Mono object.



3.3.3 Displaying Help
When you do not understand how to use a Template object, please refer to the Help.
To view Help, tap the How to use button in the Calculation object controls menu.
Tap the How to use button, and the Help screen will be displayed.



3.3.4 Mono library Registration
For frequently used values (pi, tax rates etc.) it is convenient to register them in the Mono library.
To register a value in the Mono library; tap the Entry button in the Mono object controls menu.




3.3.5 Delete
To delete a placed Calculation object; tap the Delete button in the calculation object controls menu.



3.4 log object Controls:
In 3.4 the special controls for log objects are explained.
Tap a placed log object, and the controls menu can be opened.




3.4.1 Base of logarithm Settings
Either e (Napierfs constant) or 10 can be selected as the value for the base of logarithm for a log object.
To set the base of logarithm for a log, tap the Setting Base of logarithm button in the log object controls menu.
Tap the Setting Base of logarithm button, and the base of logarithm setting screen will be displayed.

Tap the button of the value you wish to select on the Base of logarithm settings screen.
Tap the Base of logarithm button, and the base of logarithm will be applied to the log object.



3.5 Clear all Template objects
All placed Template object can be cleared at once.
To clear all Template objects, tap the AllClear button on the upper right of the Template edit screen.
Tap the AllClear button, and the confirmation menu will be displayed.


Tap the Clear all button in the confirmation menu.
Tap the Clear all button, and all of the Template objects will be cleared.



3.6 Calling a Template object      from the Mono library
A registered Mono object can be called from the Mono library.
To call a Mono object; tap the Mono Library button on the lower left of the Template edit screen.
Tap the Mono Library button, and the Mono library screen will be displayed.



Tap the object you wish to call on the Mono library screen.
Tap the object, and said object will be added to the Template edit screen.



3.7 Editing a Template title
By adding a title to the template you are editing, it is possible to make its application more clear.
To edit a template title, tap the EditTitle button on the upper right of the Template edit screen.
Tap the EditTitle button, and the title input screen will be displayed.


Enter the title you wish to set in the title input screen, and tap the OK button.
Tap the OK button, and it will be applied as the title of the formula.




4. Mono library screen

4.1 Explanation of Mono library screen
The Mono library screen is the place to register frequently used Mono objects.
The registered Mono object can be used freely at Template edit screen.

@This is the list of registered Mono object.


4.2  Open up registered Mono object      from the library
To bring out the Mono object from the Mono library and use it on the Template edit screen, please tap the cell you need from the list displayed on the Mono object list.
By taping on the cell, the Template edit screen will be displayed, and the Mono object will be added.




4.3  Delete the registered Mono object
In order to delete the Mono object registered from the Mono library, please tap the Edit button on the upper right corner of the Mono library screen.
By taping on the Edit button, the Mono object list will switch to edit mode.



Please tap the icon on the left of the Mono object cell you wish to delete.
Once the icon is taped, the Delete button will be displayed on the right of the cell.


Please tap the Delete button.
Once the Delete button is taped, the confirmation menu will be displayed.


Please tap the Delete button on the confirmation menu.
By taping on the Delete button, the relevant Mono object from the Mono library will be deleted.


Please tap the Done button on the upper right corner of the Mono library screen.
By taping on the Done button, the edit mode of the Mono object list will end.




5. Calculation screen

5.1 Explanation of the Calculation screen


‡@ Back button
@Returns to Template list screen.
‡A Edit button
@The calculation result list will switch to edit mode.
‡B Template
@The template you wish to use will be displayed.
@The underlined items and those in blue can be edited by taping.
‡C The list of calculation results
@This is the list of calculation results.
@Each calculation result is given a serial number "No.xx".
@By taping the serial number, it is possible to put a title on the calculation results.
‡D The expressions used for a calculation
@The expressions used for determining calculation results will be displayed.
‡E Answer
@The answer of the calculation will be displayed.
‡F Add calculation result button
@This will add calculation results.


5.2  Add calculation results
You can add calculation results in order to calculate registered template.
To add calculation results, please tap the add calculation results button on the upper right corner of the Calculation screen.
By taping the add calculation results button, calculation results will be added to the calculation results list.




5.3  Change the value of Calculation object
By changing the value of the Calculation object, it allows you to calculate more flexibly.
To change the value of the Calculation object, please tap the underlined, blue item in the cell of calculation results.
Once the item is taped, the calculator will start running.


Please input the value you wish to set, and tap the Done button.
By taping on the Done button, the value will be reflected in the calculation object, and the answer will change according to it.




5.4  Change the value of Template object
By changing the value of the Template object, it is possible to change the default value of the calculation results which will be added later.
To change the value of the Template object, please tap the underlined, blue items in the template cell .
Once the item is taped, the calculator will start running.



Please input the value you wish to set, and tap the Done button.
By taping on the Done button, the value will be reflected in the template object.




5.5  Delete calculation results
In order to delete calculation results which are no longer necessary, please tap the Edit button on the upper right corner of the Calculation screen.
By taping on the Edit button, the calculation results list will switch to edit mode.


Please tap the icon on the left side of the cell of the calculation result you wish to delete.
Once the icon is taped, the Delete button will be displayed.


Please tap the Delete button.
Once the Delete button is taped, the calculation result will be deleted.


Please tap the Done button on the upper right corner of the Calculation screen.
Once the Done button is taped, the edit mode of the calculation results list screen will end.




5.6  Delete all calculation results
If all calculation results are no longer necessary, it is possible to delete them altogether.
In order to delete all calculation results, please tap the Edit button on the upper right corner of the Calculation screen.
By taping on the Edit button, the calculation results list will become the edit mode, and the AllClear button will be displayed.



Please tap the AllClear button.
Once the AllClear button is taped, the confirmation menu will be displayed.



Please tap the Clear all button on the confirmation menu.
By taping on the Clear all button, all calculation results will be deleted.



5.7  Name the calculation results
It is possible to name calculation results to help easily remember what the purpose of each was.
In order to name calculation results, please tap the serial number of the calculation result.
Once the serial number is taped, the name input screen will be displayed.



Enter the title on the name input screen, and tap the OK button.
By taping on the OK button, the name will be used for the calculation result.



5.8  Copy calculation results      onto the paste board
It is possible to copy calculation results as text data onto the paste board, and use it by attaching them to memo applications.
To copy onto the paste board, please tap the action button on the bottom right corner of the calculation screen.
By taping on the action button, the menu of the actions which can be taken against the calculation results will be displayed.


Please tap the Copy button on the action menu.
By taping on the Copy button, the calculation results will be copied onto the paste board.




5.9  Send calculation result by mail
It is possible to send calculation results by attaching it to a mail.
In order to send a calculation result, please tap the action button on the bottom right corner of the calculation screen.
By taping on the action button, the menu of the actions which can be taken against the calculation results will be displayed.



Please tap the Send mail button.
Once the Send mail button is taped, the send mail screen will be displayed.
The way to send mails is the same with regular mail applications.




6. System setting screen
6.1 Explanation of System setting screen


‡@ Back button
@This will allow you to return to the screen from where it was brought out from.
‡A Manual
@This will display the manual (this page) of the Mono Calculator.
‡B Create template rule
@This will display the Create template rule.
‡C Credit
@This will display the Credit screen.
‡D Feed back
@This will send feed back such as thoughts and requests on the product to our company.
‡E Playback of sound effects
@This will set the play/ do not play of control sounds.
‡F Volume
@This will set the volume of control sounds.
@¦If the play function of the control sound is OFF, the setting of the volume will have no effect.



6.2 Display of Manual
To display the Manual (this page), please tap the action button on the right side of the Manual cell of the System setting screen.



6.3  Display of Create template rule
To display Template creating rules, please tap the action button on the right side of the Create template rule cell of the System setting screen.



6.4  Display of Credit
To display the Credit screen, please tap the action button on the right side of the Credit cell of the System setting screen.



6.5  Sending Feed back
This is the menu where you can send your thoughts and requests about Mono Calculator to our company.
We wish to respond to our customers' requests as much as possible, so we would be grateful for your cooperation with any feed back you might have.
In order to send feed back, please tap the Feed back cell on the System setting screen.
Once the feed back cell is taped, the Feed back input screen will be displayed.


Please tap the Topic cell on the Feed back input screen.
Once the Topic cell is taped, the selection screen for the topic will be displayed.


Please tap the topic which fits the contents of what you wish to send on the Topic selection screen.
Once the topic is selected, a check will appear on the right side of the cell.
After the topic is selected, tap the Back button on the upper left corner of the screen, and you will return to the Feed back input screen.


Please enter the contents of your feed back on the Feed back input screen.
After entering your feed back, please tap the Mail button on the upper right corner of the screen.
By taping the Mail button, the send mail screen will be displayed.
The way to send mails is the same with regular mail applications.



6.6  Setting of sound effects
By setting the Playback of sound effects as ON, it is possible to play Calculator-like sound effects.
To set the Playback of sound effects, please change the switch on the right side of the Playback of sound effects cell on the System setting screen.


If the sound effect is too loud, please adjust the volume.
To adjust the volume, please use the slide bar on the right side of the Volume cell of the System setting screen.
