Starting a new recording
To start a new recording, press the microphone button in the bottom-left of the screen.
Recording will start as the recording screen opens.


 

1. Length of recording
This shows how much time has elapsed since you began recording.
2. File size
This shows the current size of the recording file in KB.
This is the file size at the time of calculation and will not necessarily be the size of the completed recording, so it should be treated as a rough indication.
3. Location capture mark
This mark is displayed if the location of recording has been successfully captured.
If this mark is not displayed by the end of the recording, no location information will be attached to the recording file.
4. Recording level meter
This meter shows the recording level in real time.
If the recording level is low you should put the auto gain control ON, and if the meter is so high it turns red you should turn the auto gain control OFF.
5. Auto Gain Control ON/OFF button
Pressing this button will turn the auto gain control ON/OFF.
6. Stop Recording button
Pressing this button will end the recording.




Playing a specific recording
To play a recording, tap the library button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the library button will show the library screen.



Tap the recording you wish to play on the library screen.
The play screen will appear and the recording will begin playing.



1. Title
This is the title of the audio file being played.
2. Time and date of creation
This is the time and date of creation of the audio file being played.
3. Length of audio file
This is the amount of time the audio file will take to finish playing.
4. Play position slide bar
This visually shows the position of the currently playing audio within the whole audio file.
5. Play position
This is the amount of time that has elapsed since the audio began playing.
6. Volume slide bar
This visually shows the volume.
It is possible to change the volume by adjusting the slide bar.
Note: Adjusting the volume with the volume slide bar does not affect the system volume.
If you feel that the playing volume is low despite the volume slide bar being on maximum, please check the system volume.
7. Volume
This numerically shows the current volume.
8. Repeat button
This turns repeat ON/OFF.
9. Pause button
This button will pause the audio.
While audio is paused this button becomes the play button and pressing it will begin play again.
10. Stop button
This button will stop the audio playing and take you back to the library screen.




Looking at the library screen


1. Back button
Pressing this button will take you back to the main screen.
2. Edit button
Pressing this button will put you in edit mode where you can delete files.
3. Location information mark
This mark shows that the audio file contains location information.
4. Memo mark
This shows that the audio file contains memo information.
5. Audio file information
The title and time and date of creation of the audio file are shown.
6. Action button
Pressing this button will allow you to perform various actions on the audio file.




Viewing and entering memo information
To view or enter memo information, tap the library button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the library button will show the library screen.


Press the action button of the item you wish to view or enter the memo information for.
Pressing the action button will bring up the action menu.



Press the Memo button.
Pressing the Memo button will show the memo viewing screen.



1. Return to library screen
Pressing this button will return you to the library screen.
2. Edit button
Pressing this button will allow you to edit memos.
3. Time and date of creation of audio file
This shows the time and date of the creation of the audio file.
4. Title
This shows the title of the audio file.
5. Memo
This shows the memo which is attached to the audio file.

To edit a memo, press the Edit button in the top-right of the screen.
Pressing the Edit button will enter memo editing mode.



1. Finish button
Pressing this button will end editing mode and take you back to viewing mode.
2. Title edit box
Pressing this will allow you to change the title.
3. Memo edit box
Pressing this will allow you to edit the memo information.




Showing the location of recording
To view the location of a recording, press the library button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the library button will show the library screen.



Press the action button of the item which you wish to view the location of.
Pressing the action button will show the action menu.



Press the Map button.
Pressing the Map button will show the map screen.

1. Return to library screen button
Pressing this button will return you to the library screen.
2. Recording location pin
A pin is displayed at the location of recording.
Tapping this pin will show the title and time and date of recording.




Sending an audio file via email
To send an audio file via email, press the library button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the library button will show the library screen.



Press the action button of the item you wish to send via email.
Pressing the action button will show the action menu.




Press the Send Via Email button.
Pressing the Send Via Email button will show the email composition screen.
The email composition screen works the same as a regular email service.





Uploading an audio file to Dropbox
To upload an audio file to Dropbox, press the library button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the library button will show the library screen.




Press the action button of the item you wish to upload to Dropbox.
Pressing the action button will show the action menu.




Press the Dropbox button.
Pressing the Dropbox button will show the Dropbox authentication screen.
Note: The Dropbox authentication screen will not be shown if authentication has already been completed.

Press the Allow button to authenticate Dropbox.
Be aware that pressing the cancel button will result in the failure of the upload to Dropbox.
Once authentication is complete, the message to be uploaded to Dropbox will be displayed.
The upload will take place in the background so is it is possible to immediately begin other tasks.




Deleting an audio file
To delete an audio file, press the library button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the library button will show the library screen.



Press the Edit button.
Pressing the Edit button will put the library list in edit mode.



Tap the red circle to the left of the item you wish to delete.
Once you tap the red circle, the Delete button will appear to the right of the item.
Press the Delete button.
Pressing the Delete button will show the action menu.



Press the Delete button.
Pressing the Delete button will delete the item.
The location and memo information attached to the file will also be deleted, so make sure to make a backup beforehand if necessary. This could be done by sending the file via email.
To end edit mode, tap the Finish button in the top-right of the screen.




Hiding log information

As a part of the design, a log of actions is outputted on the main screen. However, it is possible to hide this.
To hide the log, press the configuration button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the configuration button will show the configuration screen.




Tap the Show Log switch found under the Log category and turn it to OFF.
Turning the Show Log switch to OFF will hide the log.





Turning the recording level auto gain control ON/OFF
There are two ways to turn the auto gain control ON/OFF.

Method 1: Change via the configuration screen
To change the auto gain control via the configuration screen, press the configuration button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the configuration button will show the configuration screen.



Tap the Boost Recording Level (10dB) switch found under the Recorder And Player category.
When the switch is ON the auto gain control is in effect, and when the switch is OFF it is not.

Method 2: Change via the recording screen
To change the auto gain control via the recording screen, press the microphone button in the bottom-left of the screen.
Pressing the microphone button will show the recording screen and start recording.



Press the auto gain switch to adjust the recording level auto gain control.
If the button is green the auto gain control is in effect, and if the button is gray it is not.




Changing the format of a recording (AAC/LinearPCM)
To change the format of a recording, press the configuration button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the configuration button will show the configuration screen.



Tap the Record In AAC Format When Possible switch found under the Recorder And Player category to change the recording format.
When the switch is ON, recording will be done in the highly compressible AAC format if possible. If this is not possible, recording will be done in the LinearPCM format.
When the switch is OFF, recording will always be done in the LinearPCM format.
There is little difference in sound quality, so it is recommended to leave the switch ON unless you have a special purpose for not doing so.




Turning the Auto-Lock Block   function ON/OFF when recording or playing
It is possible to avoid auto-lock occurring during recording or playing and causing it to stop.
To turn on the Auto-Lock Block function, press the configuration button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the configuration button will show the configuration screen.



Tap the Block Auto-Lock While Playing Or Recording switch found under the Recorder And Player category to turn the function ON/OFF.
When the switch is ON the block function is active, and when the switch is OFF it is not.




Turning the Store Recording Location function ON/OFF
It is possible to make it so that location information is not stored when you record.
To turn the Store Recording Location function ON/OFF, press the configuration button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the configuration button will show the configuration screen.



Tap the Store Recording Location Information switch to turn the function ON/OFF.
When the switch is ON location information will be stored, and when the switch is OFF it will not.




Changing map types
It is possible to choose from three map display formats.
To change the map type, press the configuration button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the configuration button will show the configuration screen.



Press the Map Type button found under the Map category.
Pressing the Map Type button will show the map type list.



Tick the map type you wish to use by tapping it.




Checking the status of Dropbox uploads
It is possible to check the status of scheduled uploads to Dropbox.
To check the status of uploads to Dropbox, press the configuration button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the configuration button will show the configuration screen.



Press the Upload Status button found under the Dropbox category.
Pressing the Upload Status button will show the upload status list.



1. Return to configuration screen
Pressing this button will take you back to the configuration screen.
2. Edit button
Pressing this button will put the upload list in edit mode.
In edit mode it is possible to delete uploads.
Deleting is done in the same way as with the library list.
3. The title of the file being uploaded is displayed.
Whether the file is an audio file or a memo is displayed after the title.
4. The file size and current upload progress are displayed.




Logging out of Dropbox
It is possible to log out of Dropbox if you want to log in to Dropbox as a different user or cannot upload to Dropbox properly.
To log out of Dropbox, press the configuration button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the configuration button will show the configuration screen.



Press the Log Out button next to connection found under the Dropbox category.
Pressing the Log Out button will show the action menu.



Press the Log Out button.
Pressing the Log Out button will log you out of Dropbox.
If you want to log in again, start a new Dropbox upload or go to the Dropbox upload status list.
The Dropbox log in confirmation screen will be displayed and it will be possible to log in.





Trimming audio files
It is possible to pick out only the parts you need from a recorded audio file.
To trim, press the library button in the bottom-right of the screen.
Pressing the library button will show the library screen.



Press the action button of the item you wish to trim.
Pressing the action button will show the action menu.



Press the Trim button.
Pressing the Trim button will show the trim screen.

1. Return to library
Pressing this button will take you back to the library screen.
2. Title
This is the title of the audio file currently being edited.
3. Date and time of recording
This is the date and time of the audio file currently being edited.
4. Trim length
This is the play time of the file that would be created after trimming.
5. Trim start time
This is the start time of audio you wish to pick out.
6. Play position slide bar
This shows the current play position.
You can change the play position by moving the dot.
7. Trimming results bar
This visually shows the part of the original file that would be picked out if you were to trim now.
8. Trimming end time
This is the end time of the audio you wish you pick out.
9. Trimming start time slide bar
This allows you to adjust the start time of the audio you wish you pick out.
You can adjust the trim start time by moving the dot.
10. Trimming end time slide bar
This allows you to adjust the end time of the audio you wish you pick out.
You can adjust the trim end time by moving the dot.
11. Volume slide bar
This slide bar allows you to adjust the playing volume.
You can adjust the volume by moving the dot.
Note: The adjusted volume will not be reflected in the trimmed file. The trimmed file will always have the same volume as the original file.
12. Play button
This button will play the audio from the current play position.
This can be used to help adjust the trim area.
While audio is playing this button becomes the pause button and tapping it will pause play.
13. Trim button
Pressing this button will begin the trimming process.


Adjust the trimming start time and trimming end time slide bars to set the part to be trimmed.



When you have finish setting the part to be trimmed, press the trim button.
Pressing the Trim button will show the action menu.



Press the Trim button.
After pressing the Trim button, the trimming in progress screen will be displayed so please wait a moment.
When the trimming in progress screen disappears and the library screen is shown, the trimming process has completed.
The result of the trim will be shown at the top of the library screen.
